Principal's Page

Dear MCLA Families,

It is with great pride and excitement that I write this letter of introduction as the new Principal of Marine Creek Leadership Academy.  I am blessed and honored to be in this position, and am looking forward to supporting the MCLA faculty, staff, students and families in making this a great school year.

I received my Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology at Northwestern State University as well as a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership with a Principal Certification from Western Governors University. I have held various educational roles aimed at increasing student achievement and promoting teacher collaboration. Proudly, I have spent 18 years as a teacher, coach and administrator. My career began as a high school computer science teacher before being promoted to Athletic Director at The Winston School located in Dallas, Texas. I was hired at International Leadership of Texas North Richland Hills K-8 campus as the Athletic Coordinator, then promoted to Assistant Principal.

I am resolute in my belief that my role as a leader is to support teachers, put students at the forefront of all decisions, empower parents, and engage all other stakeholders in the success of our students. I cannot wait to meet each and every one of you and learn more about how you make a difference in the lives of your students.  As we move forward with our efforts, I invite you to think about something written long ago but that still resonates today.  Ralph Emerson said:

“Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.”

I am confident that we will blaze a trail filled with success and accomplishment as we launch the best year yet for MCLA.  I look forward to a year filled with stories of great success and great learning.

Go Bullfrogs!!!
