MCLA families,
It is with great excitement that I write this letter of introduction as the newly appointed assistant principal of Marine Creek Leadership Academy for 23-24. I am honored to join a school community where success is shining through. My name is Rachel Maldonado, and I am eager to meet with and get to know all of you! I just finished my mission as an assistant principal for a middle school in Lubbock, Texas.
I have previously served as an elementary teacher, in both a general and Bilingual setting, a Science director, a Title 1 coordinator, an LPAC committee chair, along with other hats that we wear as educators. I am entering my 18th year in education. I received my Bachelors in Multidisciplinary Studies with a Specialization in Bilingual Education from Texas Tech University. I have a master's in educational leadership and special Education from Lubbock Christian University. I started my teaching career right here in Lake Worth ISD as a Bilingual Kindergarten teacher. I have taught Kindergarten, 3rd grade, and 4th grade, all of which included all subject areas.
As a family, we enjoy camping, watching movies, and attending sporting events. Personally, I enjoy kayaking, swimming, and spending time with friends and family.
